Principal Researcher at Political and Social Conflict line of COES and Tenured Professor at the School of Political Science of Universidad Diego Portales. Ph.D. in Political Science from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France. Former President of the Chilean Association of Political Science (1998-2000), he has been a Visiting Professor at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris III (Pablo Neruda Chilean Studies Chair) and at L'Institut d'Études Sociales (IES) de Grenoble, France. His areas research are: political elites and legitimacy, political and institutional charisma, political field sociology, capitals and resources in political competition, politics of memory.
